LANGUAGE OF THE SOUL
This project is a monochromatic drawing of a ballerina that I did as a commission for a client. She didn't give very many specifics as to what exactly she wanted aside from the fact that she wanted it to be related to dance, which was her passion, and for it to be "pretty," so after looking around, I found the reference photo for this pastel. I chose it because I had not yet attempted artwork in the monochromatic style before this commission and the title reflects a quote I read by Martha Graham which stated that "dance is the hidden language of the soul." The framing was one of the most beautiful choices I have ever seen for one of my drawings, as well.
